Approach
The key purpose of this service is to advise the Client on the current Fire Regulation Compliance of a site and ensure it is to the satisfaction of the Local Authority.
SANS 10400 Part T contains several requirements related to the fire protection of premises based on their use.
More specific requirements can be found in standards such as SANS 10131, which regulates installation of above-ground storage tanks for petroleum products.
It is paramount that non-residential premises be in compliance with the relevant standards for Occupational Health and Safety, and insurance purposes.
Scope of Services
The Scope of Services offered within the Fire Regulation Compliance service includes the following:
- General assessment of the premises in terms of layout and fire protection.
- Report on existing and required fire protection measures.
- Compilation of a Fire Protection Plan as per SANS 10400.
- Submission of the Fire Protection Plan to the Local Authority (submission of relevant building plans may be required and are contained the Building Plans service).
- Weekly monitoring of submission progress.
Deliverables
- Evaluation report of Fire Protection status quo on the premises.
- Fire Protection Plan.
- Approval of Fire Protection Plan by the Local Authority.
